Review of Dances with Wolves (1990) by Stephane B — 13 Jul 2010
This review is loving dedicated to the once successful and promising career of Kevin Costner, who, upon receiving all the recognition he got from this film and deserved, totally blew it after. Still, one of the best movies I have seen and one of my favorite westerns( next to High Noon).
Costner flips the genre on its head and weaves a tale of Army Lieutenant who is honored for serving in the Civil War by being assigned to the frontier and ends up discovering the frontier within himself and the beauty of the Native Americans.
Mary McDonnell and Graham Greene give noticeable performances too. This film was soooooooooooooooooooo much better than Avatar( even though James Cameron stole the storyline from this and drowned it in CGI).
