Well, the movie description is inaccurate. Selma (Bjork) is a Czechoslovakian immigrant and a single mother who unfortunately, is going blind. Her son suffers the same fate unless she can save up the money for his much needed surgery.
It's a moving film...just emotionally heart-wrenching...
