Review of Dancer in the Dark (2000) by Chihoe H — 11 Apr 2009
First off the bat, Bjork is probably a better actress than anyone would have imagined. Not only did she shine in her role with the convincing emotions involved, but also coming up with the original music of the film.
The style and direction of the film was raw, unpolished - not quite the musical yet filled with songs of the mind and thoughts. The buildup to the climax was upsetting, chilling and painful, but when it ends, you would wish it was the second-to-last song.
