Review of Dancer in the Dark (2000) by Peter L — 02 Jan 2010
Perhaps the most emotionally stirring/engaging film I have seen from Lars Von Trier (still have to see Breaking the Waves). Here his vision is uncompromising as always, and yet some grace seeps through.
Beautiful performance from Bjork, and some pretty great music. It's an exhausting one, like all of Von Trier's work it can be a bit of a challenge, but the reward this time is there, and it's pretty damn powerful.
