Review of Dancer in the Dark (2000) by Tomass P — 30 Mar 2013
Dancer in the Dark is one of the most heartbreaking films I have ever seen. Bjork delivers one of the most heartbreaking performances ever to hit the screen. It shows how cruel the world can be and how people can thrive on the weaknesses of others.
I don't think I could bear to watch this film again in the near future because of the emotional impact it has. Lars von Trier has proven to be one of the most creative film-makers working today and that he has the potential to be a master of cinema.
Dancer in the Dark is a film that will make you cringe and a film that might make you angry. That being said it is a mesmerizing film and I highly recommend it. ''When there are sheep, wolves will always thrive.
