Review of Dancer in the Dark (2000) by Shayne J — 06 Jul 2013
I'll admit that i'm not one to really be emotional during dramatic movies, but this film got to me like no other film has before. It has a bit of a slow start, but if begins to pick up and is a wonderful movie with a tragic ending.
The story follows a woman with poor eye sight who is starting to go blind and it working to afford an operation for her son to make sure he does not have the same problems that she has had with her vision.
There are some delightful musical numbers thrown in (although some of the actors could have used a little work vocally) and a stunning performance by the amazing singer, Bjork. This is a fantastic movie and I can honestly say this is the only movie that's left me bawling at the end.
