Review of Dance with a Stranger (1985) by Darryl C — 14 Sep 2007
I love this film for many reasons. one is the interplay of acting styles employed. richardson is taut, nervy and stylized like bette davis at her best. holm and everett are more relaxed but can coil and spring out when it's needed.
they deliver! mike newell's direction is taut and very well paced. the screenplay by shelagh delaney is taut and well-written. and the film is visually stylezed like a film noir. just stunning all the way round!
