Teens and horror movies go together like Jack Black and comedy films, once the two are combined I instantly become turned off to the film. Teen horrors are often weak attempts at making a quick buck off of pop culture.

They feature inhumanly beautiful teen hotties pulled straight out of a magazine with roles predetermined by thousands of films in the past and senseless plots and twists that a blind man could see coming.

Another huge part of why I hate teen horrors is because they all insist on adding the annoying comic relief with humor that is intended for only the most basic of persons. I was skeptical as I stood in line at my local blockbuster with movie in hand.

With a relatively unknown director that I had never heard of before this film and a cast of even more unknowns, I did not expect much from this movie. My predictions were way off. The plot is as rich as any other zombie film and utilizes a few fresh ideas to keep the film exciting.

The humor is enough to keep you laughing continuously from start to finish. The acting was solid through and through. The zombie massacring goodness was both brutal and entertaining and the effects were fun to look at.

This movie is about the geeks coming out on top over the Jennifer Love Hewitts. It's not just the geeks, the losers, nerds, and bullies all come together to save the day and their high school prom if they can.

And yes, the zombies do dance. Bottom line this is a surprisingly good rent and every zombie lover will love this film.
