Review of Dance of the Dead (2008) by Garrett R — 18 Mar 2011
DANCE OF THE DEAD is flat-out pure comedy-horror awesome. The acting is terrific for the teen horror genre, the gore is unabashed and creative, and the fresh premise of a teenage zombie horror comedy hits the funny bone as well as the gag reflex.
There are only a few words to describe the premise and plot of DANCE OF THE DEAD: an upcoming prom, nuclear plant radiation next to a graveyard, and zombies. Throw in unexpectedly clever dialogue, strong characterizations and later on creative gore and you have yourself a deadly dance to remember!
Right alongside ZOMBIELAND and SHAUN OF THE DEAD, DANCE OF THE DEAD can be considered the most underrated and underseen of the bunch, yet it is just as smart, funny, and gory as the latter two. See it for yourself, because we're going "to the prom, to kick some zombie ass!".
