For fans of the show only. If you haven't watched the TV show, then avoid, as you won't really get what the point of the movie is.

A very good recreation of a classic TV show, with enough tweaks to make it work as a movie.

There's enough little references to moments within the show, and in fact, this could just have been a continuation of the show.

There was a reason though that the show worked as 20 minute show and not a feature film, as the plot struggles to hold up as the film moves along. 100 minutes is probably a bit long. 90 would have been better.

Toby Jones is excellent as Mainwaring, Tom Courtenay is perfect as Jones, and Michael Gambon feels like Godfrey was just lifted straight out of the TV show and dropped into the movie.

However, Bill Nighy's Wilson doesn't feel right, losing the character traits that made Wilson such a good foil to Mainwaring.
