Review of Daddy's Home (2015) by Mark S — 09 Jan 2016
Painful - Will Ferrell's strength is the oblivious powerful character. This movie positions him as the pitiful stepdad - with the same tired gag, the uncool square contrasted with the cool tough Mark Wahlberg.
And story line never progresses from there. There is one point in the movie were Will Ferrell's character appears to temporarily gain the upper hand - but the movie reverts back to the tired dynamic.
After 90 minutes we walked out - after it was apparent this movie was stuck and never recovering - but the pain still lingers.
