Honestly, I don't think the hate towards this movie is deserved. People seem upset with how ridiculous the plot is... comedies almost always have ridiculous plots. It's not supposed to be real, it's supposed to be funny.
I wasn't busting a gut laughing, but I did find a bunch of scenes to be quite funny. I actually think that the writing isn't half bad. I suppose it comes down to your sense of humor. Don't think that because of all the negative reviews that this is some crap grade production.
If you enjoyed 'The Other Guys', then I'm sure you'll enjoy this. Mark and Will are just great together.
