Review of Daddy's Home (2015) by Dylan M — 29 Mar 2016
Daddy's Home stars Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg and is about a step dad who is trying to have a better relationship with his new wife's kids. Just as the relationship is getting stronger a new problem comes into play and that's when the cool macho real dad Mark Wahlberg steps in and sees what's going on.
Judging by Ferrell and Wahlbergs past, this movie had a lot of potential and could have been really funny. But due to the fact that recently it seems both actors comedic careers have been in a downward spiral, Daddy's Home really wasn't that good.
The silly gags and bad acting really hurt the movie. The kids in the movie are over the top shoot my self in the head annoying, and besides Wahlberg and Ferrell there's no one you really care about.
Daddy's Home doesn't have enough convincing heart or emotion in which it suffers from expanding beyond the humor. Overall the film can be funny at times, but is over doused with to many silly jokes that ultimately result in the film being a total waste of talent.
