I understand that Spike Lee is trying to show his gratitude to the black soldiers. However, isn’t it unfair showing Vietnam as a country full of impoliteness, hatred and danger? As far as I’m concerned, no Vietnamese shows such rudeness by forcing tourists to buy stuff (especially no one sells chicken to tourists alive) and curse them if they don’t buy.
Moreover, how can that guy know those men come from the US, or even that they are veterans? Even if he knew, he wouldn’t curse them for “killing his parents”. Not only that detail annoys me, but there are a load of incorrect images of Vietnam, such as the woman in ao dai smoking cigarette, old men drinking in a bar, or armed thugs in the jungle.
Common Spike Lee, do some research before making a movie.
