Don't fuck my mom.

John has spent the last seven years trying to get over his divorce. The divorce wasn't his idea and he remains best friends with his ex-wife. His ex-wife has moved on and is engaged to be married so she decides to take John to a party where he meets the girl of his dreams, Molly. John and Molly's relationship quickly takes off; the only thing that can stop their relationship from meeting its potential is Molly's son, Cyrus.

"Do you know what it feels like to be knocked unconscious?".

Jay and Mark Duplass, directors of The Puffy Chair, Baghead, Jeff who Live at Home, and the upcoming The Do-Deca-Pentathlon delivers Cyrus. The storyline for this picture is interesting and an interesting take on the genre. This was not as clever or funny as I anticipated based on the cast, but it was entertaining. The cast delivered average performances and includes John C. Reilly, Marisa Tomei, and Jonah Hill.

"You're an amazingly selfless guy.".

Cyrus was a movie I DVR'd due to its cast and the potential for a nice mixture of comedy and drama. Unfortunately, there are hardly any comedic sequences in this picture and the movie takes itself a bit too serious. The premise of the movie is important and displays the sacrifices single parents often take but delivers little new content to the genre.

"Nice penis.".

Grade: C+.
