Review of Cyrus (2010) by Samantha A — 22 Jan 2011
I admit that I did have higher expectations for this film, even though it was entertaining. I assumed it would be a slapstick comedy because of John C. Reilly and Jonah Hill though it had a more indie, drama touch to it.
I did love the music and documentary style shots in this film. It really helped the movie. Overall, it did hold my attention but felt bored at times. It had plenty of bizarre, awkward moments; all three actors were perfect for their roles.
By the end, you oddly fell in love and felt sorry for Cyrus. I'd probably watch this movie again, yet wouldn't add it to my DVD collection.
