Review of Cyborg 2 (1993) by Hugo S — 13 Mar 2008
CYBORG 2 (1993).
Directed by Michael Schroeder.
Starring Angelina Jolie, Elias Koteas, Billy DragoAfter taking the virginity of half the guys in her school, Angelina Jolie began her acting career with this sequel to a Jean-Claude Van Damme flick that, you will have guessed, never made history.Cyborg 2 has all the same old sci-fi themes you can get with robots and cyborg, pretty much the same as in Blade Runner, and if you are a sci-fi buff you will no how interesting it can be, but it needs to be well done and here its not. Well, the filmmalkers never pretended to be making a good films, they simply wanted to see miss Jolie naked, cause yes, she does take her clothes off, as she did in many films following this one.Okay, yeah I should apologize for having seen this film, it was on TV and I was on the computer and couldnt reach the remote control so I let it play until the end, well I think. It tries to be too philosophical and the action is boring. The plot is confusing and trying to refer to the first Van Damme film - we even get a peek at his muscles in flashbacks - but its just a straith-to-video film that is harmless. Jolie wasnt a really a good actress yet.
