Review of Cutthroat Island (1995) by Lucy B — 17 Jun 2007
Cutthroat Island will always be my go-to pirate film when the chaos of modern piracy on the big screen becomes too much. It has just the right amount of corny dialogue, explosions, interesting plotlines, and buried treasure.
Also: Geena Davis is a far better female lead than Kiera Knightly. Something I think is partly the fault of the screenwriters on Pirates of the Caribbean. And, out of curiosity at Jim H's review, what exactly do you classify as a "pirate accent"? Because it seems to be the nature of leading actors not to have them entierly.
