Review of Cul-de-sac (1966) by Ed Q — 08 Aug 2009
Roman Polanski's bizarre black comedy "Cul-de-Sac" successfully explores themes of isolation, sexual frustration, and mental and physical humiliation. The overly abrasive and visceral style is initially distancing, but the film slowly creeps beneath the skin and stays there.
The only consistent distraction is Lionel Stander's grating voice.
