Review of Cujo (1983) by Andrew D — 20 Jan 2009
Underrated, overlooked, unrelentingly scary classic. The cinematography and score are very impressive - it feels like a Coen brothers or Kubrick film throughout much of it. The acting is convincing, notably from the child actor. It doesn't use cheap shocks or gore. Instead it relies on suspense. However, there are a few cliches, it takes a while to get started, there are unnecessary characters, and it ends abruptly.
