Review of Cry-Baby (1990) by Allie B — 28 Dec 2009
John Waters' funniest movie has a great cast and a wicked, incisive script that spoofs and celebrates teen films of the 60's. The French kissing scene alone is worth watching the movie for. Waters' point of view is always different from any other filmmaker, and his great cast, led by Johnny Depp and Amy Locane, bring this movie to larger than life status.
More than anyone else, Waters' consistent message is that people are just people, and we need to learn to accept each other's foibles and quirks. And they don't come with more foibles and quirks than right here.
