Review of Crumb (1995) by Buddy K — 30 Jun 2010
A classic documentary that's surprisingly unbiased (which is rare especially when it comes to profiles like this) and neither criticizes or elevates its subject but simply portrays the man as he is.
This gives interesting insight into an iconic artist and what made him who he is today. While the segments involving Crumb's rise to fame are very engrossing the film's funniest, most interesting, heartwarming and heartbreaking bits are those that track his relationship with two offbeat brothers who had a big hand in his development as an artist.
A must see look into the mind of an iconic artist. Highly reccomended for anybody who loves documentaries.
