Review of Cruising (1980) by Ann D — 15 Jul 2011
Less homophobic than you'd think except for the completely bogus ending. al pacino holds it down but his character is the least interesting part of the fiick; it's the terrific ensemble cast, gritty new york locales, and sweaty, amped-up homoeroticism of the club scenes that make this a memorable worth-seeing movie.
you come out of it thinking william friedkin is both a bit gay and a bit homophobic, much like most of the characters in the film.
