Review of Cruel Story of Youth (1960) by Khrysten R — 28 Aug 2008

I happened to catch this during a TCM special for the early films of Asia, and thought that it was well done. It relays the twisted sexual depravity believed to be lived by the youth of Japan in the early 1960s and how they are doomed if they continue to act the way they do.

Sure, the two main characters' relationship is twisted BEYOND belief, but the ending showed an possible outcome for them. I really enjoyed this simply because of its uniqueness.
