Review of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny (2016) by Sean P — 18 Mar 2016
In the original Crouching Tiger a fight would start at ground level then suddenly rocket upwards, finishing in the treetops. This follow-up is mostly shot in studios and composed with the standard CG backdrops.
That stylistic choice not only makes the film look cheaper than the original, it makes the story feel unimportant & unnecessary.
