Review of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny (2016) by Jamey P — 08 Jul 2016

I was excited to see this in my Netflix queue; Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is a favorite of mine. But this suffers from sequel-itis. It's the typical thing where it has all the right parts and individually they look great but when they are put together they are much much less.

The pacing is off. In CTHD the pace is uneven too but it's used as a plot device that works. This starts too slow. In fact everything is too slow. The story can't hold a candle to the first film even though they copy as much as they can from it in the sequel.

The fight scenes are still fantastic fun. And there are some interesting points. But over all something is off and more is missing than is present.
