Review of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000) by Jack G — 23 Apr 2011
Boring. If you like impossible flying-through-the-air martial arts fight scenes, this is for you. If, like me, you think elaborate, complex fight sequences are amongst the lowest form of cinematic entertainment, second lowest only to things blowing up frequently, hugely and in bright colours, you will find this boring.
Plot is basic. Everything just seems like another segue to another fight scene.
Admitedly, cinematography is great. Beautiful scenery, great colour, and the flight scenes are well staged. That's about all I can say on the plus side.
Vastly over-rated.
