Review of Crossroads (2002) by Manon M — 15 Jun 2009
Can't believe I haven't rated this one before haha ^^ The idea of the film is quite okay and leaves room for developping a decent plot. I even found it pretty interesting how the three friends drift apart and than get back together.
Anyway, the film is terrible. Especially the character of Lucy is a huge catastrophe. Let's see, she's super-intelligent, she's ambitious and always listens to Daddy, she is the nice and understanding one, she can sing, she is sweet, she writes poems, she always thinks of others before herself, she's attractive.
.. she is everything. Please, no one in the world is like that. When the other two girls (who are actually the most reachable thing in this movie) fight she is the superior one and conciliates. As the story goes on the film becomes more and more dull and naive.
While the beginning was rather okay the ending is a total disaster. The characters are too clichéd, the dialogues totally shallow and the actors medium (Zoë Zaldana) to really bad (Britney Spears).
