Review of Crossroads (2002) by Danny S — 09 Sep 2013
It is what it is, and what it is is basically a run of the mill TV movie turned vehicle for a superstar. I like Britney, so I enjoyed the cheesy fun this had to offer. It's hardly as awful as you expect, and actually has really solid moments, but it's just so average in the end.
Much like other movies built around a single star, it's predetermined how much you'll enjoy it based on your liking of that person. That's, awkwardly, is the strength and weakness of Crossroads.
It'll do little for the naysayers, but will satisfy the fans and as a Britney fan, I was satisfied. As a movie lover, not so much. If you can separate the two, there's some corny and nostalgic fun to be had here.
