Review of Crossing Over (2009) by Kelly B — 12 Jun 2009
Preachy undertones, and a great script.....for a kid with A.D.D. Seriously, only few screenwriters/directors should EVER attempt to focus on a story with this many characters, that all seem to triangulate around each other! Honestly people- it's absurd!! "Babel" tried to do the same thing, with revolving endless amounts of story-lines into one big gobble of a story, and it hardly EVER works.
"Traffic" is the one exception I'm familiar with, and since then, these types of "Copy Cats" keep going for the gold, and ending up with shit. Crude, yet very true. As far as performances go, Harrison Ford is an actor who simply doesn't care anymore.
He goes for the easy paycheck, and is a master at creating lackluster characters since 1995. The only performance that deserves any sort of mention, is Cliff Curtis. Always the professional, even if he is stuck in a bland heap of rubble.
