Review of Crossing Over (2009) by David M — 03 Dec 2009
Harrison Ford going almost DTV, times are a-changing. This movie is an ensemble with several intertwining stories all having to do with immigration. When I say several I mean like 7 stories, so the first half of the movie you're just trying to figure out whats going on.
The movie seems to struggle to shoulder the weight of everything going on, but there are a few powerful scenes packed in there, and a couple meaningful monologues. Performances are uneven, some good some bad, but they all seem to have the same tone, so give the director credit.
Harrison Ford's facial expressions have vanished, he is now officially a wax figure. A decent flick in the vein of Crash.
