Review of Crossing Over (2009) by Christopher S — 05 Dec 2010
Very Similar to "Crash" in a sense. Alot of and very heavy on the racial overtones. Even though it's being advertised as an Immigration officer looking for a missing illegal on the back of the box, The film really deals with the US/Mexican border, document fraud, the green card process, naturalization, the office of counter-terrorism and I would say the clash of cultures between Americans born here and the ones who try and make it here.
Alot of good performances throughout. Harrison Ford continues to take a Clint Eastwood approach with his "Grump w/a Heart" performance that has littered his films since the action hero type roles stopped coming I would suppose.
Ray Liotta (and his plastic surgery) plays his scuzzball character very well. Cliff Curtis, a jack of all trades in the acting biz, also plays his role well. Alot of good performances throughout, I gotta say.
Also, can't fail to mention Alice Eve (from the film, She's Out of My League) She is just...Beautiful.
