Review of Crossing Over (2009) by Dave C — 12 Jan 2011
Harrison Ford starred in this movie -- which as far as I remember did not get a lot of play at the theaters. It includes an all star cast (Judd, Liotta and Alice Eve to name a few) and focused on a variety of immigration situations.
The movie appears to want to to make the US look like the bad guys in ruining all of the immigrant dreams, as well as showing immigration officials to be on the take or, at times, inhumane. Ford is good in this; Liotta's character is horrible and he is given no chance in the movie.
The movie does succeed to show some of the discrepancies in the US immigration policy, but appears to go to extremes at times. Overall, I felt myself cringing, but I was not bored.
