Review of Crossing Over (2009) by Gary C — 15 Jul 2009
Good, but not great. I enjoyed watching this movie, but it felt like it was trying too hard to be Crash. And it takes place in the same city. Granted, the item of racism is on the backburner here and most of the movie is about the struggles of getting American citizenship, and not many of the stories have happy endings.
But it isn't terrible, and a few of the stories are really quite good. Harrison Ford and Cliff Curtis are pretty good, but the real shame is that Alice Braga was only in this movie for like two minutes.
Super bummer. Anyways, it's a really good rental. Check it out.
