Review of Crossing Over (1983) by Alan O — 12 Dec 2009
I feel this would have worked so much better as an American TV series rather than a full blown movie. The reason is that this is made up of several stories that are just not given enough space and time to fully develop, the characters are cliche and under written, meaning that the potential power of each segment is lost.
This film touches on some topical and interesting subjects, but it's message is lost in the confusion. Harrison Ford lends his considerable star power to the proceedings, but even his character is bland and uninteresting.
A tv series about customs and Immigration enforcement officers with a seperate story each week would be a great idea, as a 110 minute movie however, it's a wasted oppurtunity.
