Review of Cross of Iron (1977) by Private U — 22 Jul 2008
Arguably the best WWII film of all time. This is a mean, bastard of a film. Sam Peckinpah takes the German perspective for this one, which only adds to the already strong nihilistic bent. Great acting, great writing, Peckinpah's classic directing.
A must-see.
