You can see the way the genius that is Pan's Labyrinth would come about in this great directorial debut of del Toro. This is like a more modern Nosferatu... It has so many under-currents like addiction, eternal youth, and love bringing you through becoming a full monster.
Very clever and scary beautiful movie...
