Review of Criss Cross (1949) by David S — 09 Sep 2007
Siodmak creates a claustrophobic and tense atmosphere as Lancaster is thrown into a world of crime and deceit. Twists and turns abound as characters constantly double-cross one another, making it impossible to know who to trust.
The unpredictability of the plot is the film's greatest asset, and the suspense is always palpable as a result. Strong, emotional performances from the cast adds to the intensity. Essential viewing in my book!
