I wish that Guillermo del Toro would have spent as much time on the story of Crimson Peak as he did on the look. This movie is visually mesmerizing. The sets, the costumes and the visual effects are hauntingly memorable.
However, the pacing is dreadfully slow and the plot is not as engaging as I hoped it would be. I liked this movie, but I wanted to like it more.
