Review of Crimson Peak (2015) by Kelly P — 21 Apr 2016
Good movie. Del Toro delivers his creepy atmosphere well thanks to impressive visuals and stylish direction, but the story is too much of a tonal jumbal to make this great. Wasikowska's character does warn us early on about what the story truly is, but the beginning of the film and the advertising were all misrepresenting the film.
The performances are pretty good, though, Wasikowska and Chastain delivering the best ones.
