A large scale Gothic romance complete with all the graphic artistry to lure our senses into the decrepit beauty of Crimson Peak. The psychological currents under the surface of the characters fills the atmosphere where their inner desires and fears manifest around them.
Guillermo Del Toro is a master at depicting this visually. In Crimson Peak he's made a large scale, visually beautiful, classic Gothic romance in the literary and cinematic tradition of the genre. It's an experience for the senses as you are kept in increasing states of sexual tension and disconcertment.
Definitely best seen on the big screen. I love Gothic romance, and Crimson Peak will be considered one of the best execution of the genre.
