Review of Crimson Peak (2015) by Brooks H — 15 Apr 2016
This had to be the worst movie I've ever seen. I barely got half way and quit.
Cars from the nineteen-teens. Costuming from the 1700s, and they slept in/wore to breakfast/etc their best go to the annual ball clothes.
The house, in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, had electricity. And no power lines. I guess that was all underground already, several decades (centuries?) prematurely. Not only did it have functioning lights, it had an electric elevator, though it had "been in the family for centuries".
And so riddle me this: If it was a fully electric house, and let's pretend light bulbs were even invented yet, why did they alternately use the electric lights but if it was dark they walked around with (very heavy to carry) 5-candle candleabras all the time?
Whoever made this didn't think far past the end of their nose.
