Review of Cries and Whispers (1972) by Shubhendu B — 07 May 2011
I think that one of the character's flashbacks, involving a piece of broken glass and smeared blood, is a little too grotesque and unnecessary for the story, but as usual Bergman triumphs on the whole with this film.
Each scene is beautifully shot and full of startling images. And I love that so much of the film is devoted to the fear of and the power of physical contact.
