Review of Creepshow 2 (1987) by Daryl G — 07 Jun 2007
Like the first "Creepshow," portions of this sequel manage to be laughable in a fun, campy sort of way. The remainder is just laughably bad. Horror movie cliches pop up regularly throughout the 89 min.
running time and the film's budget was obviously less than its predecessor. This time around there are at least a couple of sympathetic characters (G. Kennedy and his wife), but "Old Chief Wood'n Head" is also the weakest of the three stories.
"The Hitchhiker" is about as cliche-riddled as stories of this type come, but it still manages to work. Since I first saw this as a kid, I have never forgotten "thanks, thanks for the ride, lady.
" Not as good as the original, but if you don't build your hopes up too high, you just might find it to be enjoyably silly. Better watched with someone else rather than alone, due to the laugh quotient.
