Review of Creed (2015) by Bill M — 02 Mar 2016
Having grown up idolizing the Rocky movies there were several scenes in Creed that caused me to get emotional. I genuinely enjoyed this film and I think it did an excellent job working the nostalgia angle, but I feel it lacked the emotion that the original films possessed.
At the end of all the training montages in the Rocky films I always got goosebumps, but I felt the training climax in Creed really fell flat. I also felt the brain damaged "punchy" Rocky character that always had something unintentionally funny to say was not really present in this film.
Creed was enjoyable, but lacked the heart of the earlier Rocky films.
