Review of Creed (2015) by Tony B — 20 Mar 2016
The only thing that really stood out was the cinematography, especially for the character's first real bout, they did it in what looked like a one shot take. I was very impressed and it's probably the best and most realistic boxing scenes I've ever seen.
So because of that the end bout disappointed especially and reminded me of the unrealistic boxing scenes of prior Rocky films which would sometimes be endless straight rights, hooks, etc. one after the other, where the opponent just takes each one at full power with no defense, then the opponent countering with the same thing, back and forth, like some RocknShock'em robots.
Everything else though was just okay; the story, acting, etc. was nothing to write home about, overall it was a good looking film that was generally done well enough and comparable to the original Rocky film.
