Review of Creed (2015) by Train M — 27 Mar 2016
Creed is a film that was surrounded in so much controversy, it was such a nice surprise when it prevailed as not only an incredible boxing movie but the best Rocky film since the first installment. Creed was not only beautifully shot, but acted extremely well too.
Every actor in the film knocked it out of the park. Michael B Jordan shut everyone up after his awful performance in Fant4stic. Sylvester Stallone should easily have won best supporting actor at the Oscars for his performance in Creed.
The film itself is also very heartfelt. It's more than just a thoughtless boxing film. It's story is interesting and makes me excited for the sequel. The only thing I don't think I'll enjoy about the sequel us that Ryan Coogler won't be directing or writing it.
The directing and camera work in this film is some of the best I've ever seen. Some of the shots are unbelievable, especially the fight scenes. This film does contain my favourite scene from a movie ever (check my bio).
The soundtrack to this film is also incredible. It takes the old Rocky soundtrack and gives it a bit of a modern twist. The writing is spot on in Creed and provides each character with enough development and backstory for the audience to actually care.
This movie ranks in my top 10 movies of all time as number 6. I cannot praise Creed enough. All I can really say is please please buy this on Blu-Ray or DVD when you can because you will not regret it.
Overall, Creed is 100% a 5 star film that earns every star it gets.
