Review of Creed (2015) by Richie G — 17 Jun 2016
The sequel/spin-off to the Rocky franchise brings the beloved 70's character back to his former glory. The movie has a decent cast with Michael B. Jordan in the main role as Adonis Creed, Rocky Balboa's old friend Apollo Creed's son.
Sylvester Stallone's performance in particular stands out, making Rocky just as well-liked as before, but in a more dramatic role this time around. The pacing is somewhat slow and the story is darker and more serious than the previous Rocky films.
This is a good movie for people who grew up with Rocky Balboa's best years, and for people just learning about him today. The score itself is well-done, though it is usually crowded with plenty of rap music.
As for family-friendly, the PG-13 MPAA rating is best when it comes to the bloody fight scenes, language, and brief sensuality.
