Review of Creed (2015) by Felix W — 07 May 2018
I haven't seen any of the Rocky films but even without that foundation, this film is solid as hell. Despite technically being a sequel to the Rocky franchise, this movie isn't bogged down in nostalgia and makes excellent use of the character of Rocky Balboa.
The excellent performances of Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone paired with Coogler's brutally creative direction forms a film that confidently stands on its own.
