Review of Creation (2009) by Dave J — 18 Oct 2009
This is made with the BBC's usual high quality and is not what I expected. Instead of the story of his 'Origin Of Species' we get a glimpse into his own personal trauma of how his obssessions with his theory, and mainly his dead daughter, threaten to tear his family apart.
Jennifer Connelly and Paul Betteny turn in brilliant performances and give the impression of genuine chemistry of a husband and wife. However, the use of flashbacks and conversations with the daughter are rather disjointed and continually threaten to throw the viewer off of their emotional investment in the characters.
